Responsibilities
- Machinery Operation: Safely operate heavy equipment including dump trucks, graders, rollers, and backhoes under supervision.
- Maintenance Work: Perform manual labor tasks including pothole repair, sweeping, and cleaning storm drains and catch basins.
- Construction Support: Assist in asphalt paving, striping, and concrete work on various municipal projects.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols at all times.
- Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean and organized job site, removing debris and ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Signage & Traffic Control: Set up and monitor traffic control devices and signage to ensure worker and public safety.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal public works is a plus but not strictly required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Background: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Attitude: A strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn new skills.
