Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and landscaping operations
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders) under supervision
- Inspect and maintain public works infrastructure (roads, drainage systems)
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and city safety protocols
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters
- Collaborate with engineering teams on construction projects
- Maintain accurate field documentation and equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work in extreme weather
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred
- 1+ years construction experience preferred
- Fluent English communication skills
