Responsibilities
- Assist in construction and repair of public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate basic machinery and hand tools safely under supervision
- Maintain clean and organized work sites following OSHA standards
- Support material handling, loading/unloading, and inventory management
- Perform routine maintenance on public spaces and facilities
- Participate in traffic control and safety protocols
- Document daily work activities and material usage
Qualifications
- No prior experience required – training provided
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Illinois driver's license (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic math skills for material measurement and inventory
- Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
