Responsibilities
- Perform General Labor: Assist in a variety of tasks including street sweeping, pothole repair, graffiti removal, and park maintenance to ensure the city remains clean and safe.
- Equipment Operation: Operate light to medium-duty machinery and tools, such as sweepers, rollers, and jackhammers, under the supervision of a foreman.
- Material Handling: Load and unload construction materials, debris, and supplies from trucks and distribute them to work sites efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Site Preparation: Prepare job sites by clearing areas, setting up barriers, and ensuring proper drainage before construction or maintenance begins.
- Waste Management: Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, and construction waste in accordance with environmental guidelines.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time and to high standards.
Qualifications
- No Experience Required: We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn the trade. Previous experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform strenuous physical activities, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid Driver's License: A current, valid driver's license is required for this position.
- High School Diploma/GED: Basic education and the ability to read and understand instructions are required.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work a full-time schedule including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team and follow directions from supervisors.
