Your Mission:
As a vital member of the Public Works team, you will assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of city streets, drainage systems, and public grounds. You will work in various weather conditions, ensuring our city remains safe and accessible for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including grading, paving, and patching streets.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery such as dump trucks, loaders, and excavators.
- Assist with snow removal and ice control operations during winter months.
- Maintain drainage systems, catch basins, and ditches to prevent flooding.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely.
- Clean streets, parks, and right-of-ways to ensure community aesthetics.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations on job sites.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Nebraska Class A or B Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance practices is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
