Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment (excavators, dump trucks, rollers) for construction/maintenance projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, paving, and concrete work
- Install/repair public infrastructure: roads, sidewalks, drainage systems, and utilities
- Maintain job sites: safety compliance, waste management, and equipment maintenance
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters or infrastructure failures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Experience with hand/power tools and heavy machinery operation
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of construction safety protocols
