Responsibilities
- Perform Heavy Manual Labor: Assist in paving, patching, pothole repair, and general road maintenance projects throughout Orlando.
- Operate Equipment: Safely operate heavy machinery such as dump trucks, rollers, and jackhammers under supervision.
- Traffic Control: Set up and maintain traffic signage, cones, and barriers to ensure the safety of the crew and the public.
- Clean-Up & Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work site, including loading, unloading, and staging materials.
- Site Inspections: Assist in basic inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with local ordinances and safety regulations.
- General Support: Perform various other labor tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor to ensure project milestones are met.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training provided.
- Driver’s License: Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Safety Orientation: Basic understanding of construction safety protocols and willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Teamwork: Strong ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
