Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and landscape maintenance
- Operate light machinery and hand tools safely under supervision
- Assist in construction, repair, and upkeep of public infrastructure
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean work sites
- Participate in rotational training across multiple public works divisions
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance reports
- Collaborate with crew members on project timelines and quality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California driver's license (Class C)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and work in outdoor conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Commitment to safety and willingness to learn technical skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
- US citizenship or legal authorization to work required
