Responsibilities
- Perform street maintenance and repair work including pothole patching and sign installation
- Operate light machinery (sweepers, mowers, compactors) under supervision Assist with storm drain cleaning and flood prevention initiatives
- Participate in park and green space maintenance projects
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean work sites
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks
- Document work progress and materials usage accurately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Louisiana driver's license (Class E or higher)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Commitment to attending all training sessions (4 weeks)
- No prior experience required – training provided
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
