Responsibilities
- Street Maintenance: Assist in the repair, paving, patching, and resurfacing of asphalt roads and sidewalks.
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, loaders, and backhoes under supervision.
- Weather Response: Perform snow and ice removal operations on public roads and parking lots during winter storms.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and supplies safely.
- Traffic Control: Set up and monitor traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and flagging operations.
- General Labor: Perform general cleaning and maintenance of work sites and public facilities.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on assigned vehicles and tools.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is preferred but not required for entry-level applicants.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly; ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- License: Valid Arizona Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools; willingness to learn and operate heavy equipment.
- Availability: Must be available for part-time shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Background: Ability to pass a post-offer drug screen and background check.
