Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and utility installation
- Operate light equipment (bobcats, trenchers, dump trucks) safely
- Maintain public areas, parks, and drainage systems
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Document daily work activities and equipment usage
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and work in extreme weather
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong work ethic and commitment to public service
