Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) and power tools with proper safety protocols
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and drainage system upkeep
- Conduct site inspections and report maintenance needs to supervisors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of materials, equipment usage, and project progress
- Adhere to OSHA standards and environmental regulations for all operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions
- Experience with construction equipment operation or heavy machinery
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and construction materials
- Strong communication skills for remote team coordination
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on field tasks
