Responsibilities
- Assist with general construction and maintenance tasks, including digging, hauling, and loading materials.
- Perform street maintenance duties, including pothole repairs and sweeping.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete assigned projects.
- Load and unload construction equipment and materials from trucks and work sites.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Interact with the public and other city employees in a professional and courteous manner.
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety hazards immediately to supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety protocols is a plus.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends when necessary.
