Responsibilities
- Execute Manual Labor: Perform a variety of tasks including loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials, debris, and equipment.
- Maintain Infrastructure: Assist with road maintenance, snow removal, irrigation system repairs, and general site cleanup to ensure public safety and aesthetics.
- Operate Equipment: Safely operate light to medium-duty machinery and hand tools, including jackhammers, pressure washers, and forklifts (training provided).
- Adhere to Safety Protocols: Strictly follow OSHA safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Site Preparation: Prepare job sites by digging, grading, clearing brush, and setting up barricades or signage.
- Support Skilled Trades: Assist engineers, surveyors, and specialized tradespeople with daily operations and material handling.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness of work vehicles and equipment, reporting any necessary repairs immediately.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; vocational training in construction or public works is a plus.
- Licensing: Valid Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record are mandatory.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform strenuous physical labor in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Skills: Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety equipment; ability to read and understand basic blueprints and safety signage.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience: Previous experience in public works, construction, landscaping, or general labor is preferred but not required for qualified applicants.
- Availability: Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as project demands require.
