Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt patching
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, concrete saws) with proper safety protocols
- Maintain public spaces: parks, sidewalks, and storm drainage systems
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters or infrastructure failures
- Conduct routine inspections of public works equipment and facilities
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines and maintain clean work sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction equipment
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- 1+ years of construction or public works experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain
