Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for municipal infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) and power tools safely and efficiently
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and park facility upkeep
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and city protocols for hazardous materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Conduct routine inspections and report infrastructure concerns to supervisors
- Maintain accurate work logs and inventory records for equipment and supplies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or public works preferred
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow verbal/written instructions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
