Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, asphalt cutters) under supervision
- Maintain and repair roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Assist in traffic control and site setup for construction zones
- Document work progress and maintain equipment logs
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related public works issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification preferred
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and safety procedures
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
