Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, material handling, and site cleanup
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, pressure washers) under supervision
- Assist in roadway maintenance, drainage system repairs, and park facility upkeep
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain organized work zones
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional crews on public infrastructure projects
- Participate in emergency response operations during weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices preferred
- Willingness to obtain required certifications (provided by county)
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
