Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and facility maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, graders) safely and efficiently
- Assist in construction, repair, and maintenance of city infrastructure
- Ensure work sites comply with OSHA safety regulations and city standards
- Load/unload materials and maintain organized storage areas
- Participate in emergency response operations during weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous physical activity
- Experience with construction tools and equipment preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification a plus
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
