As a Public Works Laborer, you'll work on critical projects including road maintenance, park renovations, and utility upgrades. We provide all necessary training and equipment to ensure your success and safety while serving our community.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, forklifts) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and landscape installation
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of public facilities
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
- Document daily work activities and project progress
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related infrastructure issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of construction/public works experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and construction plans
