Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and facility upkeep
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, graders) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather and infrastructure failures
- Conduct routine inspections of public works equipment and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Adhere to OSHA standards and city safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Missouri driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to operate city equipment
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Experience in construction, landscaping, or related field preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety
