Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, forklifts) for construction/maintenance projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and debris removal
- Conduct routine inspections of public works facilities and equipment
- Adhere to strict OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate work logs and project documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for efficient project delivery
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class A or B CDL license preferred
- 2+ years construction/public works experience or relevant training
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Strong work ethic and punctuality with weekly pay accountability
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
