Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance including road repairs, drainage systems, and park upkeep
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, excavators, dump trucks) under certified supervision
- Assist in construction projects for sidewalks, curbs, and public facilities
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related public works incidents
- Maintain accurate work logs and report equipment malfunctions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction/public works or related field
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
