Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for city infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, and compactors) under supervision
- Maintain safe work zones using proper barricades and signage protocols
- Assist in road repair, drainage system maintenance, and landscape restoration
- Inspect and maintain assigned equipment to ensure operational safety
- Collaborate with crew members to meet daily project milestones
- Document work progress and report safety concerns to supervisors
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tool operation
