Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and jackhammers
- Assist in emergency storm response and disaster recovery efforts
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on urban development projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and municipal protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Tennessee Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Clean background check and drug-free workplace compliance
