Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including road repairs, drainage maintenance, and park upkeep
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders) under certified supervision
- Assist in snow removal and emergency response during extreme weather
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report hazards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on construction projects
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and minor troubleshooting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Michigan Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Strong teamwork ethic and punctuality
