Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, backhoes, and asphalt pavers under supervision
- Assist in construction projects including bridge repairs and utility line installations
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs
- Manage waste materials and debris removal following environmental protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of construction or public works experience preferred
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power equipment operation
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and procedural compliance
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
