Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, loaders, and street sweepers safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service calls during inclement weather or public safety incidents
- Conduct regular inspections of public assets and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support urban forestry and water quality initiatives
- Adhere to OSHA standards and environmental compliance protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of public works or construction maintenance experience
- Valid Oregon Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and power equipment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in field environments
