Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (mowers, tractors, trenchers) with precision and safety protocols
- Respond to emergency service requests within specified SLAs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Conduct regular inspections and submit detailed maintenance reports
- Implement sustainable practices in all operational activities
- Maintain accurate records of materials, labor, and equipment usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience in municipal maintenance or construction
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and maintenance management software
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
