Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal facilities, roads, and green spaces
- Operate specialized equipment (sweepers, mowers, snow removal vehicles) safely and efficiently
- Inspect public infrastructure and report maintenance needs to supervisors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during emergency response operations
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Document work activities and maintain equipment maintenance logs
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and businesses
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of equipment operation or maintenance experience
- Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Residency in Washington, DC (or willingness to relocate within 90 days of hire)
