Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) with precision and safety
- Respond to emergency storm damage and infrastructure failures
- Conduct inspections and document maintenance activities using digital systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Implement erosion control and landscaping best practices
- Adhere to OSHA and municipal safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Valid Tennessee Class B CDL license with clean driving record
- 3+ years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and maintenance software
- Tennessee Stormwater Management certification desirable
