Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., dump trucks, graders) safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency storm damage and weather-related infrastructure issues
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and document maintenance needs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or infrastructure maintenance
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B) with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (backhoes, excavators) safely
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping and asset management systems
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
