Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on public parks, streets, and water systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, graders, and dump trucks
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during inclement weather
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental safety protocols
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on urban renewal projects
- Document maintenance activities and submit progress reports
- Participate in public outreach for community improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Oregon Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of municipal equipment operation experience
- Certification in confined space rescue preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends
- Strong knowledge of Portland's infrastructure systems
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical exam
- Clean driving record and background check
