Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and asphalt equipment
- Respond to emergency weather-related infrastructure damage (floods, storms)
- Conduct safety inspections of public spaces and document hazards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction maintenance experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and repair techniques
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Valid Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) certification preferred
