Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders) and power tools safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service calls for infrastructure repairs during storms or events
- Conduct inspections and document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Train junior staff on proper equipment usage and maintenance procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and hand/power tools proficiently
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in inclement weather conditions
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation systems
- Must pass background check and pre-employment physical
