Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city buildings, parks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment including trucks, loaders, and trenchers safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls during inclement weather and public events
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and document maintenance activities using digital systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and municipal regulations
- Train junior staff on proper equipment operation and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience in facility maintenance or public works
- Valid Maryland Class C driver's license with clean record
- Certification in heavy equipment operation (CDL Class B a plus)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with maintenance tracking software and mobile devices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must pass background check and drug screening
