Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including sidewalks, drainage systems, and public buildings
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., dump trucks, graders) and power tools safely and efficiently
- Conduct daily safety inspections of equipment and work zones
- Respond to emergency weather-related infrastructure repairs within specified timeframes
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems and compliance forms
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Train junior staff on municipal maintenance protocols and safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in maintenance preferred
- Minimum 2 years' experience in municipal maintenance or construction
- Valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with digital reporting tools (e.g., GIS, work order systems)
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Pass background check and drug screening
