Responsibilities

  • Maintain Municipal Assets: Perform routine inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, traffic signals, and street furniture to ensure optimal safety and function.
  • Operate Equipment: Safely operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, street sweepers, and jackhammers, as well as hand tools and power equipment.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency service requests and weather-related incidents, such as pothole repair and debris removal during storms.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all OSHA safety regulations, traffic control protocols, and departmental policies to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and the public.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage departmental inventory, including ordering supplies and reporting equipment needs to supervisors.
  • Community Interaction: Interact professionally with the public, contractors, and other city departments to resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Technical or Vocational training in a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in general construction, landscaping, or municipal maintenance work.
  • Driver's License: Valid Class C Driver's License required; Class B License is highly preferred.
