Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repairs on municipal infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery such as backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers safely and efficiently
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and document maintenance activities
- Respond to emergency service requests during storms and other critical events
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or maintenance
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor environments
- Basic proficiency with maintenance tracking software
- Pass background check and drug screening
