Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on city vehicles, heavy equipment, and infrastructure assets.
- Inspect and repair street signs, traffic signals, and storm drains to ensure public safety.
- Operate heavy machinery, including backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers, in accordance with safety protocols.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and work in various weather conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and work orders.
- Collaborate with engineers and other city staff to identify infrastructure improvement opportunities.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and departmental policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Arizona Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Technical or vocational training in automotive, construction, or mechanics preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance or a related trade.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
