Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on city vehicles, heavy equipment, and infrastructure assets.
  • Inspect and repair street signs, traffic signals, and storm drains to ensure public safety.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers, in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and work in various weather conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and work orders.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other city staff to identify infrastructure improvement opportunities.
  • Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and departmental policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Arizona Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Technical or vocational training in automotive, construction, or mechanics preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance or a related trade.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor.
