Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency repairs during severe weather events
- Conduct inspections of public facilities and document maintenance needs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems and repair techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
