Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and inspection of municipal streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy machinery and construction equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all operational protocols.
- Assist in the installation and repair of public signage, lighting, and traffic control devices.
- Conduct field inspections to identify safety hazards, wear and tear, and necessary upgrades to city assets.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to execute infrastructure improvement projects on time and within budget.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents, such as snow and ice removal.
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA safety standards and local building codes at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; vocational training or Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- A valid Class C Georgia Driver’s License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in general maintenance, construction, or landscaping.
- Proven ability to operate hand and power tools, as well as heavy equipment (excavators, rollers, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of local government procurement processes and public safety regulations.
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
