Responsibilities
- Maintain city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment (dump trucks, graders, mowers) safely and efficiently
- Perform preventive maintenance on public facilities and parks
- Respond to emergency weather-related repairs (snow removal, flooding)
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated projects
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Kansas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- 2+ years equipment operation or maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
