Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and repair on municipal infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as jackhammers, excavators, and street sweepers safely and efficiently.
- Inspect construction sites and public works projects to ensure compliance with safety standards and city regulations.
- Respond to emergency service requests regarding street maintenance, potholes, and debris removal.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contractors to coordinate large-scale municipal projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Vocational training in a related field is preferred.
- Valid Class C California Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or public works.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, tools, and safety protocols (OSHA standards).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
