Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (mowers, trucks, excavators) with strict adherence to safety protocols
- Respond to emergency service calls and storm damage repairs with rapid deployment capability
- Document maintenance activities using digital systems and submit detailed work reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and municipal safety standards
- Participate in public outreach programs related to infrastructure initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Valid Georgia driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in municipal maintenance or construction
- OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical examination
