Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities, parks, and public infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency repairs during inclement weather or public safety incidents
- Conduct inspections and document maintenance activities using digital systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support major city projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Train junior staff on proper equipment usage and maintenance protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Arizona Class C driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years experience in maintenance, construction, or related field
- OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends for emergencies
- Proficient in basic hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
