Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city buildings, parks, and infrastructure systems
- Operate heavy machinery including snowplows, graders, and trenchers with precision
- Conduct daily inspections of public facilities to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, materials, and equipment usage
- Respond to emergency service calls during extreme weather events
- Adhere to all federal, state, and municipal safety regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in facility maintenance or equipment operation
- Valid Indiana Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and maintenance software
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
