Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, graders, and asphalt equipment
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during storms or natural disasters
- Conduct regular inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and city protocols
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Strong knowledge of Miami-Dade County infrastructure systems
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in South Florida climate
- Must pass background check and drug screening
