Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, dump trucks) for city infrastructure projects
- Perform routine maintenance on public parks, roads, and stormwater systems
- Conduct safety inspections and report infrastructure hazards
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for emergency storm response
- Document maintenance activities using digital work order systems
- Train on OSHA-compliant safety protocols and equipment handling
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- 2+ years equipment maintenance or construction experience
- Certification in OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
