Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city buildings, parks, and facilities including plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC units
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment to ensure public spaces are clean and well-maintained
- Respond to emergency repairs during off-hours as part of on-call rotation
- Inspect and repair playground equipment, athletic fields, and irrigation systems
- Assist with snow removal and storm response operations during inclement weather
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory usage
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; vocational certification in maintenance or construction preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance, landscaping, or public works
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to operate power tools, heavy machinery, and landscaping equipment safely
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair principles
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
